Bathroom deep clean: limescale, grout and the black silicone question

The bathroom is the room people are most embarrassed by, and the most satisfying to bring back. No judgment, that’s the job.

Price

€120 for a bathroom on its own. Extra bathroom or ensuite, another €120. Add a sitting room for €50 or a small bedroom for €40 on the same visit, or book the whole house as a deep clean.

What gets done

  • Full limescale removal: taps, shower screen, tiles
  • Shower, bath and toilet deep-cleaned and sanitised
  • Tiles and grout detailed
  • Glass and mirrors polished
  • Extractor and vents wiped

Limescale

Donegal water leaves a white film on glass and a crust around taps. It comes off with the right product and time, and the shower screen goes clear again. This is the one people notice first when they walk in after.

Grey grout

Most grey grout comes back a long way once it’s scrubbed and rinsed properly. Very old or cracked grout may need regrouting, and I’ll tell you that from a photo rather than after the clean.

Black silicone: the honest answer

If the black is sitting on the silicone, it cleans off. If the mould has grown into the silicone, cleaning lightens it a lot but won’t make it white. That silicone needs cutting out and redoing. I’ll say which it is before you book, so you’re not paying for a result that isn’t possible.

Why mould keeps coming back, and how to stop it.

Before I arrive

Clear the shelves and the edge of the bath. That’s it.

Send me a photo of the shower and the silicone. I’ll tell you what will come clean and what needs replacing, then give you a fixed price.
