Sofa cleaning in Letterkenny: what to expect

Most sofas people are about to replace just need cleaning. Here is what the clean does, what it costs, and the honest answer on stains.

What hot-water extraction does

A hoover takes what sits on top. Underneath, in the fibres and the foam, there is dust, skin, pet hair, spilt drinks and whatever the kids brought in, years of it. That is what makes a sofa look grey and flat and gives a room a smell you’ve stopped noticing.

Extraction pushes warm water and cleaning solution into the fabric and pulls it straight back out, along with the dirt. The first time people see the water that comes out of their own couch, they usually go quiet. There’s a short video of it on the sofa service card.

The job: deep vacuum first, stains pre-treated, extraction, cushions both sides. Products are eco, safe for kids and pets.

Will the stain come out?

Fresh ones almost always. Old, set-in stains lighten a lot, but I won’t promise 100% on those, and I’ll tell you that from the photo before you book. Bleach marks and stains that have been scrubbed with the wrong product can’t be put back.

Pet urine that has soaked into the foam can be treated and improved, but again, I’ll say so first.

How long to dry

A couple of hours. If the clean is in the morning, you’re sitting on it in the evening. A window open or the heating on speeds it up.

Check the label

Most sofas have a care tag under a cushion. “W” means water-based cleaning is fine, “S” solvent only, “W/S” either, “X” vacuum only. Send a photo of it with the sofa and I know what we’re dealing with.
