Prices for carpet cleaning in Ireland run from “€25 a room” flyers to €300 quotes for the same house. Here is how the pricing actually works, so you can compare like with like.
Per room or per square metre?
Per-room prices look simple but hide a lot: a “room” might be capped at 12 m², stairs are extra, and hallways are “a room” too. Per m² is transparent: measure the floor, multiply, done. I charge €10 per m² (wool €15 per m² because it needs lower temperature and more drying care), and €120 for stairs and landing as a fixed job.
Typical totals in 2026
- Sitting room, 16 m²: €160.
- Double bedroom, 12 m²: €120.
- Stairs and landing: €120.
- Whole 3-bed house, four carpeted rooms plus stairs: usually €500–600.
- Rug up to 6 m²: from €45; often included in a sofa bundle.
Anything advertised well under this is usually a quick surface shampoo rather than hot-water extraction, or the price changes once the van is in your drive. Ask what machine they use and whether the price is fixed.
What changes the price
- Soiling level. A carpet that hasn’t been cleaned in years needs pre-treatment and a second pass.
- Fibre. Wool and sisal need specific products and gentler heat.
- Stains and pet accidents. Spot treatment before extraction. More on pet smells.
- Furniture. Clearing the room yourself saves time; moving heavy furniture is fine but say so.
- Distance. 30–50 km from Letterkenny there’s a €200 minimum order.
How the clean is done
Hot-water extraction: solution injected under pressure, agitated, then extracted with the dirt. Dry in 2–6 hours depending on the room and the weather (a window open helps). Eco products, safe for kids and pets, no sticky residue that re-soils in a month. Carpet and sofa cleaning in Donegal.
Send the room sizes (or just photos) and I’ll give you a fixed price for the lot.
